I love this series. Seriously. If you aren’t reading this book you are missing out on one of the funniest books put out by any company. It’s certainly the funniest book put out by Marvel, and it’s also one of the most refreshing books in their line. If Dan Slott ever gives up writing Spider-Man, Marvel should hand Spidey over to Nick Spencer.
Ultimate Comics X-Men #33 is a poetic ending to one of the most unique X-Men runs. Brian Wood cuts back on the dialogue, and the story is mostly told through Alvaro Martinez’s art and caption boxes from the perspective of Kitty Pryde and Jean Grey. The real reason for Utopia’s attack on Tian is revealed, and the fight between Kitty Pryde and Jean Grey is thrilling.
How well does a throwaway joke villain from last issue’s 70’s parody translate to this issue’s present day setting? Well, unfortunately, not well. Not well at all.
From the last pages of Age of Ultron #10 to the first pages of Guardians of the Galaxy #5, the newest Lady of Marvel has arrived. What does this mean? From the looks of it, bad news for the Guardians. We’re talking a universe shattering cat fight here folks.
