REVIEW: Uncanny Avengers #13

With the return of Daniel Acuna, Uncanny Avengers #13 is back to being a visually stunning and very talky book. Most of the comic consists of the Avengers Unity Squad, the Apocalypse Twins, or Horsemen of Death waxing eloquently about the role of mutants in the world. Rick Remender gives each side a clear motivation in their conflict.

WOLVERINE #6 is a good example of Cornell’s ability to skew our expectations with the popular X-man, incorporating many of the weirder and wider aspects of the Marvel Universe into Logan’s normally much more straightforward adventures.

REVIEW: Wolverine #5

WOLVERINE #5 is a bit of a decline in quality from the first four issues of the Marvel NOW! reboot. Cornell continues to build the unique new aspects he brings to the Wolverine mythos, from a recon team made up of superhero obsessives to a Logan with a bit of a larger cultural vocabulary.
