As we celebrate 25 issues to say that a lot has happened to Miles in that time is an understatement.

For some a year is enough time for someone to start to move on from a death and everyone has tried to be as understanding as possible during. However after Miles’ refusal to intervene in a superpowered brawl by using his father being in the vicinity as an excuse has taken it too far and it’s time to get back on the horse.

Gwen in to a degree the most understandingly angry with his actions since she was there at the time but is only able to see it from her own perspective, so she takes it upon herself to inform Ganke  the most angry with his actions that she takes it upon herself to get Ganke aware of what Miles has done. With everyone trying to get him to come back it plays on an idea that has been in the Batman mythology that anyone can be Batman (although it’s a little harder to accidentally get spider powers) and the world needs a Batman. Although not as a symbol to make the bad guys fear him but Spider-Man has and always will be someone that the people can believe in.

The Cloak and Dagger origin while dialed back from the previous issue continues in the background as they awake to see that something has happened to them and now they’ve got these powers that they don’t understand.

What can I say about Marquez’s art that I haven’t said in every other review I have given of this series? It’s damn near perfection each time because it’s not always about the action scenes but some great facial work. If the last thing that I saw was his version of Gwen Stacy before going blind then I think I may just be able to live with that.

Score: 9.0
